The Adobe Certified Associate World Championship is a global competition that identifies and honours the next generation of design professionals using Adobe software. The Regional Final will bring together the 20 finalists at an event hosted by Adobe UK on June 10, 2015 to determine the UK & Ireland Champion.
The event will see finalists compete in a design challenge where they will be given instructions, project requirements, and assets to complete a real–world design challenge for Over the Wall using Adobe Creative Cloud software. The UK & Ireland Champion will be determined based on an evaluation of the finalists work. The 2015 UK & Ireland Champion will win the trip of a lifetime (sponsored by Prodigy Learning) to represent the region and compete at the final round of the World Championship in Dallas, Texas.
Prodigy Learning also confirmed today that the Second Qualifying Round for the Final has been extended until May 31, 2015.
A final 10 students from around the UK & Ireland can join the list
of confirmed Finalists by taking an eligible ACA exam during May.
Kevin Mathieson (Chief Executive, Over the Wall) commenting on the announcement said: “Over
the Wall children’s charity is delighted to have been chosen as the
charity partner for the ACA Certified Associate (ACA) UK Championship
and are excited to be involved in this event. We are confident that the
participating students using Adobe products will produce outcomes which
will benefit us and the hundreds of seriously ill children we support
each year.”
Dani Durrant (Leadership and Talent Development Operations Specialist – EMEA, Adobe) noted: “We
are extremely pleased to be hosting the first ACA World Championship UK
Final at Adobe’s Head office in Maidenhead. We are delighted to be
connecting young people with tools and technology to not only improve
their individual skills, but to be able to tell a story using local
charity Over the Wall as the subject matter. The great thing about this
programme is that it is about much more than the technology – it’s about
igniting creative confidence in youth and developing life and
professional skills through the creative process!”
Andrew Flood (CEO, Prodigy Learning) added: “The
ACA Championship UK Final presented a unique opportunity for us to give
tangible benefit to a very deserving charity while also giving
real-world design experience to a very talented group of design
students. We are excited to see the projects the students produce
using Adobe Creative Cloud and will be proud to see the artwork used for
such a good cause as Over the Wall.”
