Adobe ACA UK & Ireland Champion beats 1000s of student entrants in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
The Adobe ACA UK & Ireland Champion has been announced by Adobe and Prodigy Learning after a virtual final which took place on 24th June as part of CertMatters.Live Online 2020.
The ACA Championship attracts 1000s of creative design students from across the UK & Ireland each year. Students, aged 13 to 22, competed with peers to prove their creative design skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. The top 20 finalists were invited to the June 24th virtual final. They completed a design challenge based on a brief from this year’s Charity Partner client – Naval Families Federation. From the comfort of their own home they demonstrated their mastery of the Adobe suite.
There could only be one winner. A panel of judges including the NFF and Adobe design industry experts reviewed the final projects. They determined the winners based on visual appeal, their ability to meet the client’s requirements and brand aesthetics, and their professional usage of the Adobe Creative Cloud applications. The first-place winner (who wins the trip of a lifetime to Florida to compete in the *ACA World Championship Final 2021) is:
Divine Kila, Coventry University
Congratulations to Divine, and to all the finalists on a fantastic achievement!!
Adobe and Prodigy Learning recognised the top 20 student finalists at the ACA UK & Ireland Championship Virtual Awards Ceremony. Finalists demonstrated their proficiency using industry-leading Adobe Creative Cloud software to design a marketing asset for Charity Partner, Naval Families Federation. The NFF aims to provide advocacy support, information and signposting for Royal Navy and Royal Marine families.
“I’m delighted to be part of the Adobe ACA UK & Ireland Championship virtual final today, not only do we get to see the wonderful projects created, but also to meet ambitious, creative students who are kick-starting their careers with globally, industry-recognised certifications,” said Rachel Gray (Director of Education Sales, Adobe UK). “These young people beating over 1000s peers from across the UK and Ireland are designers and creators of the future. The designs these students have created today for Naval Families Federation virtually and in less than a day gives us a small sample of their talent. I cannot wait to see what these students achieve in their futures.”
Creativity Skills rank the No.3 in 2020 Future of Jobs report by the World Economic Forum. Earning Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) Certification and being able to demonstrate creativity skills in using the Adobe tools will allow these finalists to stand out above the crowd to future employers.
“Celebrating the best of the best creativity skills at the UK & Ireland ACA Championship Final is always the highlight of our year. While the current challenging situation means we could not do it in person this year, it is still an honour to crown the ACA Champion who will represent the region at the World Championship Final in 2021. Certification and participation in this final will stand out on their CVs and be a key to successful academic and career pursuits!” said Andrew Flood (CEO, Prodigy Learning). ‘Congratulations to Divine on an incredible achievement, we know she will be a fantastic creator in the future’’.
