BETT 2018 proved to be our biggest and best show yet. We would like to thank Microsoft and Certiport for making our time at this years show a huge success. Our joint stand with Certiport was located within the Microsoft Partner Campus and it was a pleasure to be surrounded by such an awesome team. We had many highlights across the 4 days and huge social engagement on our @certmatters Twitter account which can be viewed on BETT 2018 – Twitter Highlights and BETT 2018 – album if you missed them. We have three very note-worthy moments from the Show we would like to highlight.
Our first highlight is our Showcase Session with Rhondda Cynon Taf Borough Council (RCT) on the Microsoft Solutions Showcase Stage, titled ‘Increasing Employability with Future Ready Skills’. A special thank you to our friends James Protheroe (Assistant Headteacher, Darran Park Primary School), Matthew Davies (Deputy Headteacher, Treorchy Comprehensive School), and Martyn Silizen (14-19 Strategy Officer, Rhondda Cynon Taf Borough Council) who accompanied Prodigy Learning’s Andrew Flood (CEO), Sarah Snowdon (Digital Skills Specialist) and Andrew Griggs (UK Country Manager) to discuss their unique success story. An incredibly inspiring discussion where RCT shared how they’ve successfully supported 128 Schools in their authority to deliver Microsoft Certifications & Future Ready skills with the help of Prodigy Learning. One of RCT’s many achievements showcased was how embedding Future Ready Skills have lead to students employed in the NHS. A powerful quote from Martin Silizen during the discussion was “Technology will never replace teachers but teachers who teach with technology will replace those who won’t!”.
Our second highlight was on Day 3 of BETT Show – what a day! We had the pleasure of Microsoft’s UK CEO, Cindy Rose along with Chris Perkins (Sr. Director – Public Sector), Ian Fordham (Director – Education) and Sarah Hicks (Channel Manager – Education) joining us at our stand in the Microsoft Partner Campus. A brilliant discussion was had with Prodigy Learning’s Andrew Flood (CEO), Andrew Griggs (UK Country Manager) and Sarah Snowdon (Digital Skills Specialist) about Future Ready Skills and preparing the students of today for the jobs of tomorrow with Microsoft Certifications.
Our third very note-worthy highlight is the tremendous effort by our entire Prodigy Learning team to deliver a record number of Microsoft Certifications in our Testing Centre. At BETT 2018, in partnership with Microsoft and Certiport, we gave all attendees the opportunity to take a Microsoft Certification Exam for FREE! Attendees could take as many as they wanted across the Microsoft suite, including the NEW Microsoft Certified Educator Exam, NEW computer Science Microsoft Technology Associate exams and Microsoft Office Specialist exams. Our Testing Centre hit a record number of over 300 Certificate Exams delivered at the show. Candidates success was amplified throughout BETT on @certmatters account, again congratulations to all those who went home from the Show with a very valuable, industry recognised Microsoft certificate.
