CertMatters.Live, our inaugural educator professional development event, held on 22nd June in Design Museum London, featured a Higher Education Showcase Session delivered by Cardiff Metropolitan University, Sheffield Hallam University and Coventry University.
Gareth Johns shared useful tips and best practices implementing MOS and MTA, their successes and the value which students have gained through earning certifications. Jayne Revill discussed how they have delivered MOS certifications to their students for over 5 years, equipping them with highly sought-after valuable skills. Joy Monkhouse showcased best practice in delivering Adobe creative design skills and certifications to students in Coventry University.

Gareth Johns (IT Skills Development Advisor, Cardiff Metropolitan University)
Gareth
leads the IT Training Service at Cardiff Metropolitan University, which
is tasked with developing and delivering contextualised IT training for
staff and students. His current professional interests include Office
365 collaborative technology, boosting user adoption, and certification
for IT training. Gareth is a member of the UCISA Digital Capabilities
Group.
Jayne Revill (Principal Lecturer, Sheffield Hallam University)
Jayne
is a Principal Lecturer in Business Systems and a member of the
Department of Finance, Accounting and Business Systems at Sheffield
Business School. My main areas of focus are information systems,
quantitative analysis and accountancy. My research is focussed on areas
of e-learning, pedagogy and digital skills.
Joy Monkhouse (Senior Lecturer in Illustration and Graphics, Coventry University)
Joy
is a Senior Lecturer in Illustration & Graphics, Researcher and
Senior Fellow HEA, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Coventry University.
Joy has over 15 years professional experience as a Design Manager;
children’s and educational publishing, e-learning, multimedia,
instructional design, marketing and communications, and project
management.
