Microsoft School is top for IT innovation
As published by the Dewsbury Reporter (March 25, 2014)
A secondary school has been recognised as a centre of excellence for the way it delivers ICT training.
St John Fisher Catholic High School is the only Microsoft Academy in Kirklees, which means it can offer industry qualifications to pupils which are endorsed by the computing giant.
Martin Lewarne is from Prodigy Learning, the school’s link with Microsoft. He said: “The school has been recognised as one the most innovative in the country, as they are one of only a handful of schools in Yorkshire offering these certifications and the only one in the Dewsbury area. These industry standard certifications from Microsoft give students job ready skills that will give them the best possible opportunity to gain employment once they leave the school.”
