The VP of Systems & Security will be responsible for managing the technology stack for our award-winning cloud assessment platform along with our internal IT systems as well as ensuring their security and regulatory compliance. This is an exciting opportunity to join at a manager level position supporting the global growth of a fast-growing business in Ireland.
Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, this role would ideally suit an individual with 5 years plus experience within IT/Cloud administration and software development.

Primary Responsibilities
- Azure and Cloud Platform Management (35%)
- Manage our global Azure infrastructure including:
- Ensuring effective and economic use of resources
- Ensuring systems are highly available and fault tolerant
- Optimizing cloud services for performance and scalability
- Ensuring systems and data are secure, is backed up and conform to any regulatory compliance requirements
- Architecting cloud services to operate in a global environment according to best practice
- Designing and executing annual disaster recovery exercises
- Perform capacity planning and monitoring system performance to identify issues or predict growth trends
- Manage our global Azure infrastructure including:
- Security & DevOps (35%)
- Work with development team to:
- Deploy and maintain our platform
- Streamline the development process
- Ensure security requirements are met throughout the software development lifecycle
- Provide guidance and support on secure coding practices
- Implement & automate security testing and vulnerability scanning in the development process
- Develop and follow change control procedures and provide necessary notification for systems changes
- Guide development team and regularly meet with stakeholders (CPO, Product Managers) to design, build, test, and deploy changes to existing platform
- Collaborate with other teams to develop and implement security policies and procedures
- Keep up to date with the latest cloud technologies, security threats, trends, and technologies
- Work with development team to:
- IT Systems Management (20%)
- Manage, maintain, and enhance the company’s IT infrastructure including:
- Azure Active Directory
- End user devices (Windows, iPhone)
- Microsoft 365
- Salesforce
- Security software and solutions
- Various other SaaS solutions used within the business
- Design and implement system upgrades and maintain a device management system (Intune)
- Document new or modified infrastructure solutions
- Conduct security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards (i.e. our ISO27001 compliant ISMS)
- Monitor and respond to security threats and incidents
- Perform and set standards for systems on the installation, configuration and upgrades, backup and restore, log reporting, security solutions, monitoring and analysis of system performance
- Manage, maintain, and enhance the company’s IT infrastructure including:
- Leadership & People Management (5%)
- Experience of recruiting staff, managing people and monitoring performance
- Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels, including both written and verbal communication skills
- Develop and submit weekly, monthly, or quarterly reports
- Other Duties as Assigned (5%)

- Demonstrate excellent organisational and project management skills
- Strong aptitude for problem solving and technical knowledge / skills
- Display excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills in English and ideally Spanish
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgement within established policies and guidelines

- Flexibility to working arrangements to meet our global customer base and support requirements
Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years relevant experience including:
- managing Microsoft Azure cloud platform (including Azure AD, App Services, SQL Server and BLOB Storage), Azure DevOps Services and M365 (including SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams)
- working with security testing tools such as OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, and Nessus
- working with the remote developers using Agile methodology in a collaborative environment and working independently
- Knowledge of various languages (C#, JavaScript, PowerShell, AngularJS)
- Strong understanding of security standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Microsoft Azure certification and/or security certification an advantage
- Knowledge of online assessment and learning platforms an advantage
Location
Prodigy Learning has offices in Ireland, Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States. This role will be ordinarily based in our Dublin head office with the option for remote work (from home) anywhere in Ireland. Flexibility with working hours will be required to meet and contribute to an international team.

Performance Targets
In this role you will be expected to provide systems and security management in accordance with internal KPI’s centred around the availability, security and regulatory compliance of the platform. An annual bonus may be paid on meeting these annual KPI’s.
