Chilton Cantelo School pupil, Ciara Munnery, aged 14 has just become one of the youngest in Britain to pass the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Word 2010 Expert Exam.
Ciara has also passed Microsoft Office Specialist exams in Word, Powerpoint and Excel as part of her regular curriculum work in Year 10 along with other pupils.
Kevin Wagland (ICT Subject Co-ordinator, Chilton Cantelo School) said: “I am very proud of Ciara as this is an incredible achievement for such a young person. We have been running MOS at Chilton Cantelo for three years and we’ve already had one pupil go to Disneyland Florida to represent Britain in the MOS World Championships. I hope there is a chance Ciara will get to the UK finals at Microsoft’s Headquarters in Reading. And then who knows from there.“
Craig Bewley (Director, Prodigy Learning) said: “It is a great credit to both Ciara and Chilton Cantelo School that she has achieved the MOS Word 2010 Expert certification at such a young age. However, this only goes to highlight what schools can achieve with getting their students to do MOS at an early age.”
