Certiport has named Hannah Wilson from the United Kingdom as the Third Place Winner for Microsoft Word 2007 at the 2014 Microsoft Office World Championship. Prodigy Learning would like to congratulate Hannah and her school, Sawtry Community College, on this fantastic achievement!
Students from all around the world competed in final round of the Microsoft Office World Championship in Anaheim, California. this past week. In its 13th year, the 2014 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship attracted more than 400,000 unique candidates from 130 countries who competed to demonstrate their mastery of Microsoft Office products. 123 student finalists participated in the final round of competition.
Two UK Champions (highest scores in Microsoft Office Specialist exams taken during the year in schools) were sponsored by Prodigy Learning to attend the competition. Zachary Mustin (from Chilton Cantelo School) and Hannah Wilson (from Sawtry Community College) competed at this 2014 event.
The UK has a great recent history in the MOS World Championship with 2 World Champions in 3 years. Last year in Washington D.C., Kieran Youngman was crowned World Champion for MOS Word. In San Diego in 2011, Rebecca Rickwood was named World Champion for MOS Excel. Both Kieran and Rebecca were also students of Sawtry Community College so special praise should go to the school and the teachers.

About the Microsoft Office World Championship
The Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship is a global competition that tests students’ skills on Microsoft Office applications. Two UK Champions are invited by Prodigy Learning to represent the UK and compete at the World Championship annually. For students to participate in the Competition and get the chance to represent the UK as National Champions, they must take an eligible Microsoft Office Specialist exam at their school (subject to official UK Competition Rules).
Next year, Certiport will host the 2015 Microsoft Office World Championship in Dallas, Texas. Watch out for the UK competition launch announcement later this year!
